COMP/PSYC 7/8514: Cognitive Science Seminar: Fall 2007 topic
More-or-Less Unified Theories of Behavior, Brain, and "Mind"
Description: The cognitive sciences joined forces in the 20th century, but where is the "field" of cognitive science going in the 21st? The focus of this seminar is to discuss and debate theories that are meant to have broad implications about understanding behavior, brain, and "mind." Such broad theories have often been the focus of both debate and discovery in cognitive science (e.g., neural networks, or dynamical systems approaches). We will focus on a range of these theories, subject them to scrutiny (and, perhaps, support), and consider how they may continue to shape the field. For more information, please consult the syllabus.
